Great Guns Marketing celebrated their 10th Anniversary in style with a party at Raven’s Ait Island, in the River Thames at Surbiton. Over 170 guests turned up to congratulate Liz Jackson MBE and all the Great Guns team on the truly fantastic achievement of 10 years in business.
Great Guns Marketing has come a long way since the business was set up in 1998 by Liz Jackson in the lounge of her rented flat in Basingstoke. Liz’s only funding was a £4,000 loan and a £1,000 grant from the Prince’s Trust. The company now has a turnover of £3million and employs over 130 people nationwide in seven offices and has a growing client list of Blue Chip companies including the likes of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture and Royal Bank of Scotland. |

The evening was a great success with entertainment provided by The Three Waiters and a myriad of magicians and other entertainers. Special guests included Mrs Mary Fagan the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, who said “Over the last ten years, I have watched Liz’s success with immense interest and pride. She has often spoken at different Prince’s Trust events where I have been present, and I’ve always been amazed by the way she speaks, the way she carries out her business and her totally positive attitude. And I am not a bit surprised at the success she has had” |

Mrs Fagan also read out a message from Prince Charles offering his “warmest congratulations” to Liz Jackson. The Prince wrote “In so many ways Liz Jackson is a wonderful example of the ‘virtuous circle’ which I have always wanted my Prince’s Trust to initiate.
As many of you know already, The Prince’s Trust exists to help young people overcome the obstacles they face and to “get their lives working” through practical support – including training, mentoring and financial assistance. Since I started The Trust thirty-two years ago, we have helped over 575,000 young people, giving them the skills and confidence to realize their potential and change their live. Liz Jackson is one of our success stories and is a tremendous inspiration to all of us and, dare I say it, I look forward to hearing about the successes to follow in the next ten years!” |
